Current Volunteer Opportunities
Walk to End Alzheimer's
— Year round, volunteers are needed to help behind the scene as we work to raise funds to support our programs and research. Volunteers would help to make phone calls, drop off signs and/or information packets, enter data into our computer system and help with mailings.

Annual Fall Gala
— Join a creative and vibrant group of volunteers on the Annual Fall Gala Steering Committee. Enjoy planning a great party with volunteer roles including auction item procurement, corporate sponsorship solicitation, ticket sales, decorations and publicity. Planning starts each April and runs through November. The committee meets monthly and volunteer duties also occur between meetings. Event day volunteers are also needed.

Event Assistant
— Seeking volunteers to assist with First Friday and Caregiver Series events to ensure a successful experience for caregivers. Volunteers are needed to act as hosts for our refreshments and literature tables, as well as provide socialization and supervision of individuals with dementia.

Health/Wellness Fairs
— Companies, health departments and United Way agencies host health fairs and request our chapter to provide a siaply and information about dementia our programs at these events. We are in need of volunteers willing to help staff a our display table, answer questions, hand out brochures and collect information from those who are interested in being contacted by our organization.

Speaker's Bureau
— Volunteers are needed to deliver a variety of presentations to increase awareness of Alzheimer's disease and the services the chapter provides to a range of audiences. There are opportunities for week day, and evening and weekend presentations. Training is required.

Office & Administrative Support
— Volunteers are needed to assist with general office and administrative duties on a weekly basis to support special events, educational programs, clinical, development and general office needs. Work includes data entry, phone calls and collating information.
Support Group Leaders
— Volunteers are needed to provide leadership to local support groups for Alzheimer's caregivers, family and friends throughout the 14 counties that the Central Ohio Chapter serves. Support groups are held during the week in both the daytime and evening. Ongoing training will be provided. Estimated time commitment: 4-6 hours per month.

Day Out Club (Delaware)
— A volunteer is needed to assist individuals with early to mid stage dementia who participate in the Day Out Club. The group meets every Wednesday from 10am-2pm to provide community service projects, activities, socialization, and lunch for 6-8 individuals with dementia. Volunteers would help with set up/clean up for the day, engage participants in conversation, assist participants as needed with the service projects and activities, and help serve a simple lunch.
